Taxonomy
Isostylomys was named by Kraglievich (1926). Its type is Megamys laurillardi.

It was synonymized subjectively with Eumegamys by McKenna and Bell (1997).

It was assigned to Eumegamyinae by Rusconi (1949), Mones and Castiglioni (1979), Rinderknecht et al. (2018).
