Taxonomy
Visbyella was named by Walmsley et al. (1968). Its type is Orthis visbyensis.

It was assigned to Orthida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Resserellinae by Bassett and Cocks (1974), Williams et al. (2000) and Rubel (2011).
