Taxonomy
Plagiorhyncha was named by McLearn (1918) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov S Ludl Sepkoski's reference number: 25,27]. Its type is Rhynchonella glassii.

It was assigned to Camarotoechiinae by Bassett and Cocks (1974) and Musteikis and Modzalevskaya (2002); to Rhynchonellida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Eatoniidae by Williams et al. (2002).
