Boreostemma venezolensis
Taxonomy
Asterostemma venezolensis was named by Simpson (1947). Its type specimen is (number not assigned), an other (Most of the carapace and the anterior end of the lower jaw), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Banks of the Rio Guere, which is in a Miocene terrestrial horizon in the Santa Ines Formation of Venezuela.
It was synonymized subjectively with Asterostemma acostae by Villarroel (1983); it was recombined as Boreostemma venezolensis by Carlini et al. (2008).
