Boreostemma gigantea

Taxonomy
Asterostemma gigantea was named by Carlini et al. (1997). Its type specimen is IGM 250928, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Duke Locality 113 (La Venta Fauna), which is in a Laventan fluvial sandstone/mudstone in the La Victoria Formation of Colombia.

It was recombined as Boreostemma gigantea by Carlini et al. (2008).
