Anthracosuchus balrogus
Taxonomy
Anthracosuchus balrogus was named by Hastings et al. (2015). Its type specimen is UF/IGM 67, a partial skeleton (Nearly complete skull, 7 vertebrae and 9 ribs), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerrejón Coal Mine (clay layer below Coal Seam 90), which is in a Paleocene/Paleocene floodplain claystone/lignite in the Cerrejón Formation of Colombia. It is the type species of Anthracosuchus.
