Taxonomy
Furcitella plicata was named by Cooper (1956). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 0.6 mile northwest of Linville Station, which is in a Turinian marginal marine sandstone in the Oranda Formation of Virginia. It is the type species of Furcitella.
