Taxonomy
Spirigerina was named by d'Orbigny (1849) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov-m D Eife Sepkoski's reference number: 25,37,538]. It is not extant. Its type is Terebratula marginalis.

It was assigned to Carinatininae by Bassett and Cocks (1974); to Atrypidae by Jin and Chatterton (1997); to Spirigerininae by Williams et al. (2002); and to Atrypida by Sepkoski (2002).
