Taxonomy
Mytilus (Modiola) blanfordi was named by Weir (1929). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bihendula (Bihin Limestone mudstone series), which is in a Callovian marine mudstone/shale in the Bihin Limestone Formation of Somalia.
