Diabolocrinus was named by Wachsmuth and Springer (1897) [Sepkoski's age data: O Llde O Ashg-m]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Rhodocrinitidae by Ausich (1998); and to Diplobathrida by Sepkoski (2002).
