Taxonomy
Cupressocrinites was named by Goldfuss (1831) [Sepkoski's age data: D l D Fras-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1065]. It is the type genus of Cupressocrinitidae, Cupressocrinitacea.

It was assigned to Cupressocrinitidae by Ubaghs et al. (1978) and Webster et al. (1999); and to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002).
