Saccocoma was named by Agassiz (1836) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bajo K Vala]. It is not extant. Its type is Comatula tenella.
It was assigned to Roveacrinida by Sepkoski (2002); to Saccocomidae by Pisera and Dzik (1979), Kroh and Lukeneder (2009); and to Saccocominae by Rasmussen (1961), Hess and Messing (2011).
