Pseudolabechia was named by Yabe and Sugiyama [Sepkoski's age data: S Wenl S Ludl-u]. It is the type genus of Pseudolabechiidae.
It was assigned to Pseudolabechiinae by Stearn et al. (1999); to Stromatoporoidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pseudolabechiidae by Stock (2015).
