Taxonomy
Abra (Syndosmya) cygnea was named by Jeffery and Tracey (1997). Its type specimen is BMNH LL 41612, a valve (right valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Barnea bed, Bursledon Brickworks, which is in a Ypresian offshore shale in the London Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
