Eurynotoides was named by Berg (1940) [Sepkoski's age data: P Tatr Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Eurynotoidiidae.
It was assigned to Amphicentridae by Gardiner (1969); to Palaeonisciformes by Sepkoski (2002); and to Eurynotoidiidae by Tverdokhlebov et al. (2005).
