Taxonomy
Leptaena laevigata was named by de Sowerby and Murchison (1839). Its type specimen is GSM 6635 and is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Pholidostrophia (Mesopholidostrophia) laevigata by Bassett and Cocks (1974); it was recombined as Pholidostrophia laevigata by Gritsenko et al. (1999); it was recombined as Mesopholidostrophia laevigata by Baarli (1995) and Rubel (2011).
