Taxonomy
Neldasaurus was named by Chase (1965). It is not extant. Its type is Neldasaurus wrightae.

It was assigned to Dvinosauria by Schoch (2013); and to Trimerorhachidae by Carroll (1988), Yates and Warren (2000), Schoch and Milner (2014).
