Coccovedus celatus was named by Smithson et al. (2016) [Small triangular-shaped tooth plates with length to width ratio c 2.4:1. Five radiating tooth ridges. Pterygoid tooth ridge angle c. 140.]. Its type specimen is UMZC 2014.2.1, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil.
