Mongolostegus exspectabilis
Taxonomy
Mongolostegus exspectabilis was named by Tumanova and Alifanov (2018). Its type specimen is PIN 3779-15, a partial skeleton (pubis, vertebrae, rib, pelvic bones), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chamrin-Us (PIN coll. 3779) [SMPE], which is in an Aptian/Albian fluvial-lacustrine claystone/sandstone in the Dzunbain Formation of Mongolia. It is the type species of Mongolostegus.
