T. S. Kelly 1992Cuyamacamelus is distinguished from all other camels by having the following
suite of characters: upper dental formula I1?, I2-3, P1-4, M1-3; skull long and narrow; rostrum
elongated and extremely narrow; occiput narrow and crested; facial fossa of moderate depth; I3 large, single-rooted, and caniniform; C moderate in size and blade-like; Premolars uncrowded; P1 small, single-rooted, and caniniform; P2 reduced; P3-4 slightly reduced relative to molars; molars low-crowned and uncrowded.
