Taxonomy
Bellusaurus sui was named by Dong (1990). Its type specimen is IVPP V.8299. Its type locality is Konglonggou, IVPP Loc. 83003, which is in an Oxfordian terrestrial mudstone/sandstone in the Shishugou Formation of China.
