Antirotella was named by Cossmann (1918). Its type is Helictes helicinaeformis.

It was reranked as Anomphalus (Antirotella) by Radabaugh (1942); it was synonymized subjectively with Anomphalus by Knight et al. (1960).

It was assigned to Anomphalus by Radabaugh (1942); and to Anomphalinae by Wagner (2023).
