Architectonica bellastriata was named by Conrad (1854) [m. kosnik taxon no: 6565]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Jackson, which is in an Eocene coastal horizon in Mississippi.

It was recombined as Architectonica (Architectonica) bellastriata by Harris and Palmer (1947).
