It was assigned to Mitromorphinae by Beu et al. (1990); and to Neogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).
Viridoturris was named by Powell (1964) [m. kosnik taxon no: 8291].

It was synonymized subjectively with Typhlomangelia by Bouchet et al. (2011).

It was assigned to Turrinae by Wilson (1994).
