Pseudophoracea was named by Miller (1889) [elevated by Knight et al. (1960); PBDB ref. #10229]. It is not extant.

It was corrected as Pseudophoroidea by Golikov and Starobogatov (1975) and Wagner (1999).

It was assigned to Archaeogastropoda by Knight et al. (1960); to Macluritida by Golikov and Starobogatov (1975); and to Euomphalina by Wagner (1999).
