Taxonomy
Lesueurilla expansa was named by Koken and Perner (1925). It is not extant. Its type locality is Vestre Svartøy, Lake Tyrifjorden, which is in a Pirgu carbonate limestone/shale in the Bønsnes Formation of Norway.

It was recombined as Maclurites expansa by Wagner (2023).
