Knightinella humerosa

Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria humerosa was named by Meek and Hayden (1858). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is East for of Grasshopper Creek (= Delaware River) at Osawkee village, which is in a Virgilian carbonate limestone/shale in the Foraker Limestone Formation of Kansas.

It was recombined as Hypselentoma humerosa by Weller (1929); it was recombined as Amaurotoma humerosa by Yochelson and Saunders (1967) and Kues and Batten (2001); it was recombined as Amaurotoma (Knightinella) humerosa by Licharev (1975); it was recombined as Knightinella humerosa by Wagner (2023).
