Tryblidium (Pilina) was named by Koken and Perner (1925) [Sepkoski's age data: O Ashg-m S Wenl Sepkoski's reference number: 1,273]. It is not extant. Its type is Tryblidium unguis.

It was reranked as Pilina by Knight and Yochelson (1960), Starobogatov (1970) and Sepkoski (2002).

It was assigned to Tryblidium by Koken and Perner (1925); to Tryblidiinae by Knight and Yochelson (1960); to Tryblidiidae by Starobogatov (1970); and to Tryblidiida by Sepkoski (2002).
