Taxonomy
Eccyliopterus was named by Remelé (1888) [Sepkoski's age data: O Aren-u O Cara-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1197]. It is not extant. Its type is Eccyliomphalus alatus.

It was reranked as Raphistoma (Eccyliopterus) by Frech (1911); it was synonymized subjectively with Ecculiomphalus by Knight et al. (1960).

It was assigned to Euomphalidae by Ulrich and Scofield (1897); to Raphistoma by Frech (1911); to Helicotominae by Morris and Cleevely (1981); to Euomphalina by Sepkoski (2002); to Lesueurillidae by Frisk and Ebbestad (2007); and to Lesueurillinae by Wagner (1999) and Wagner (2017).
