Ptychagnostus atavus
Taxonomy
Agnostus atavus was named by Tullberg (1880) [Lectotype designated and refigured by Westergård (1946, pl. 11, fig. 8).]. Its type specimen is LO354T, a cephalon/head, and it is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Acidusus.
It was recombined as Ptychagnostus (Acidusus) atavaus by Öpik (1979); it was recombined as Acidusus atavus by Laurie (1988) and Weidner and Nielsen (2014); it was recombined as Ptychagnostus atavus by Robison (1982), Westrop et al. (1996) and Hong and Choi (2015).
It was recombined as Ptychagnostus (Acidusus) atavaus by Öpik (1979); it was recombined as Acidusus atavus by Laurie (1988) and Weidner and Nielsen (2014); it was recombined as Ptychagnostus atavus by Robison (1982), Westrop et al. (1996) and Hong and Choi (2015).
