Semitubina was named by Cossmann (1918) [Sepkoski's age data: S Wenl D Give Sepkoski's reference number: 797,1066]. It is not extant. Its type is Tubina spinosa.

It was assigned to Tubinidae by Knight et al. (1960) and Blodgett et al. (2001); and to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).
