Taxonomy
Crommium was named by Cossmann (1888) [Sepkoski's age data: K u T Mi Sepkoski's reference number: 614]. It is not extant. Its type is Ampullaria willemettii.

It was reranked as Amaurellina (Crommium) by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995).

It was assigned to Ampullospiridae by Iqbal (1973); to Amaurellina by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995); to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Ampullospirinae by Marincovich (1977), Majima (1989) and Perrilliat et al. (2006).
