Stratigraphy
Formation:Sagul
Stratigraphic resolution:group of beds
Stratigraphy comments: Formation thought to be late Early Jurassic, based on the flora (Aliev et al., 1981).
Lithology and environment
Primary lithology: lithified "siliciclastic"
Environment:lacustrine - small Tectonic setting:intramontane basin
Geology comments: Based on the Sinichenkova and Zherikhin (l.c.) reconstruction these assemblages were restricted to the shallow small oxbow lakes with abundant allochthonous detritus in river valleys. Mesozoic intramontane Tien Shan basins formed by reactivation during Qiangtang collision.
