Local section:Serraduy Local bed:95 m
Local order:bottom to top
Stratigraphic resolution:bed
Stratigraphy comments: Upper part of the Conques Formation, close to the K/P boundary
The Conques Formation is equivalent to the "lower Red Garumnian" facies. The Conques Formation was previously assigned a late maastrichtian age (Sellés and Villa 2015; Villa et al. 2015) Biostratigraphy and Sr stable isotope geochemistry suggest that the La Posa and Conques Formation are entirely early Maastrichtian, lying within chron C31r (see Caus et al. 2016; Oms et al. 2016; Fondevilla et al. 2016; Fondevilla et al. 2019).
