Stratigraphy comments: The beds in Lluest Quarry lie just beneath the Pen-y-garnedd Black Shale Group, while they appear to be from the succession on Das Eithen (near Pen-y-garnedd) several hundred feet above the horizon with Heterorthis retrorsistria. Cocks (2010) appears to lump the Allt-Tair-Ffynnon with the Gaer Fawr.
