Stratigraphy comments: Abathomphalus mayaroensis (in thin section) about 25 meters below the Bédat Wall suggests that the corresponding upper Maastrichtian begins at least this level. The Bédat Wall itself and overlying levels contain diagnostic Palaeogene globigerinids.
