Stratigraphy comments: The junction between Penrith Sandstone and the Plant Beds is seen in the riverbank on the north side at the western end of Ash Bank Wood. Most of the Plant Beds are exposed in the river bluff on the south side of the beck and consist of a series of well-bedded, alternating sandstones and thin pale-grey or olive-green shales. |
