Stratigraphy
Formation:Eboshi Member:Arakuchizaki
Stratigraphic resolution:bed
Lithology and environment
Primary lithology:grading lithified sandstone
Secondary lithology:gray,red lithified mudstone
Lithology description: The upper part consists of the alternated beds of sandstone and dark gray to black mudstone. The mudstone color gradually changes from dark gray through red and light green to dark gray mudstones toward the top of this member. The red and light green mudstones are massive. The dark gray mud- stone of the upper part contains lenticular to flaser beds with bidirectional current ripple laminations, but these laminations are generally obscured by intense bioturbations.
Environment:peritidal
Geology comments: The Arakuchizaki Member (newly defined) con-
sists of tidal flat, channel and tidal sand bar deposits
(Komatsu, 1999a).
