Stratigraphy
Formation:Moenkopi Member:lower red
Stratigraphic resolution:group of beds
Stratigraphy comments: The lower red member is a lateral equivalent of the lower part of the Torrey Member of the Moenkopi Formation (Mickelson et al. 2006: table 1).

"In SE Utah, the Torrey Member immediately overlies the Sinbad Limestone, a marine unit that yields Smithian ammonoids...The Virgin Limestone, of early Spathian age, may correlate to the uppermost part of the Torrey Member. Therefore we regard the Torrey as primarily of Smithian age" (Lucas & Schoch 2002: Lethaia 35: 97–106)
