Lithology and environment
Primary lithology:gray "limestone"
Secondary lithology:black calcareous "shale"
Lithology description: General for this community: "In spite of the pronounced slump features in the bituminous limestones...the shelly fauna is neither crushed nor disarticulated. Relations with other communities suggest BA 4...The Community occurs in limestone lenses and intercalations within the graptolitic shale sequence...A BA 4 position is suggested..." For this local occurrence: "The Community has also been found beyond the Butovice volcanic area...where the benthic fauna occurs in limestone intercalations of the calcareous graptolitic shales...The graptolites are preserved in three dimensions in the limestone intercalations."
Environment:marine indet.
Geology comments: General for this Community: "The relatively low diversity ... and its relative depth position might be explained by a quiet water, lower oxygen environment...In the Svaty Jan area the [limestones containing this community intercalate with laminated Lsts containing Miraspis-Mezounia Comm.]"
