Lithology and environment
Primary lithology: packstone
Secondary lithology: grainstone
Lithology description: Peloidal pack- to grainstone
Environment:shallow subtidal indet.
Geology comments: Grainstones were found to range from bioclasts with little or no micritisation to coated grains wherein the rim is extensively micritized around the entire grain. The first of these accords with rather rapid cementation of components after breakage and deposition. Components are crinoid stem plates with subordinate skeletal grains of brachiopods and bryozoans. Peloids are sparse or even lacking.Grainstones were found to range from bioclasts with little or no micritisation to coated grains wherein the rim is extensively micritized around the entire grain.
