Primary lithology: lithified framestone
Lithology description: The main biotic components of the Ireviken Halysites biostrome are the framebuilder and host Halysites catenularius (Linnaeus 1767) and the large encruster Cystiphyllum visbyense Wedekind 1927. The minor components of the biostrome are the small phaceloid rugose coral Nanophyllum ramosum Johannessen 1995 and ceramoporid bryozoans which encrust corallites of C. visbyense (see reconstruction, Fig. 10). Fragments of ostracods and trilobites were also found in the thin sections.
