Stratigraphy
Formation:Arroyo Seco
Stratigraphy comments: “Fm.” Arroyo Seco, Piso/Edad Bonaerense (Pleistoceno Medio). This “unit” would correspond at least in part to the Middle Pleistocene (Floor / Buenos Aires Age; J. Kraglievich, 1952). This unit was also defined and characterized by Kraglievich (1952), it can be found deposited on different "formations" in other sectors of the region, but in Punta San Andrés its presence is corroborated in disagreement on the "Fm." Miramar.
Lithology and environment
Primary lithology:paleosol/pedogenic,concretionary,red or brown calcareous siltstone
Lithology description: Its genesis corresponds to subarea deposits composed of loessoid silts of reddish brown coloration with few limestone concretions. This level is affected in some sectors by channels that preserve rolled calcareous concretions and small silty intraclasts.
Environment:terrestrial indet.
