Stratigraphy
Formation: | Steinvika Limestone | Member: | Skavraker |
Stratigraphic resolution: | member |
Lithology and environment
Primary lithology: | bioturbation lithified argillaceous lime mudstone |
Secondary lithology: | "shale" |
Lithology description: At Skavråker the lowermost 3.6 m of the member consist of pale calcilutites with subordinate argillaceous mudstones. The latter occur as thin, wispy, and discontinuous laminae and impart a reticulate aspect to the pale calcilutites. The mudstone is highly bioturbated. | |
Environment: | deep subtidal shelf |
Geology comments: Interbedded thinly laminated bioclastic calcilutites and argillaceous mudstones |
