Stratigraphy comments: Upper Pliocene, Middle Villafranchian, MN17. Correlated with the Sokh suite. Faunal remains in the C2 Formation are associated with a boundary of normal and reversed polarity, interpreted as the Gauss/Matuyama boundary.
