Stratigraphy comments: "early Tithonian" is used in a local, Antarctic sense. It refers to the perisphinctid-dominated ammonite fauna which occurs in the lower levels of the extensive Himalia Ridge Formation, Fossil Bluff Group, Alexander Island. PJW: This should be the Novocin member of the Hauberg Mountains formation now, within the Latady Group. |
