Stratigraphy
Formation:Yaquina
Stratigraphic resolution:formation
Stratigraphy comments: near the top of the Yaquina Formation, very close to the contact with the overlying Nye Formation

UCMP 122900 was found on the same beach as the holotype of A. cotylalveus, and may either have originated from the same stratigraphic horizon (about 28 Ma), or from a slightly younger layer [22, 24]. Although originally thought to date from the latest Oligocene, the uppermost part of the Yaquina formation has now been re-dated to the earliest Chattian (28.1–28.0 Ma [25]; see discussion of A. cotylalveus).
