Stratigraphy comments: STRATIGRAPHIC SOUCE: Individual bed (12) within measured section. STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: Suwannee Lmst was erected by Cpple amd Mansfield (1936) for exposures of hard limestone in local region and locally overlies the Crystal River Fm. AGE: Early Oligocene (Rupelian). SPECIFIC STRATIGRAPHY: 1 ft thick limestone in upper portion of 131 ft section, 17 ft below top of section. |
Lithology and environment
Primary lithology: | concretionary,brown,yellow lithified "limestone" |
Includes fossils? | Y |
Lithology description: SPECIFIC LITHOLOGY: Cream to tan, hard, crystalline, nodular, porous limestone with seams of limestone, amd containing many poorly preserved molds.
Environment: | carbonate indet. |
Geology comments: GENERAL ENVIRONMENT: Environment not specified, but carbonate facies. |

Collection methods and comments
Collection methods: | selective quarrying,field collection |
Reason for describing collection: | general faunal/floral analysis |
Collection method comments: SOURCE: Based on field collecting. REPOSITORIES: Unknown repository for molluscs, echinoids and foraminifera, presumably Florida Geological Survey.
Taxonomic list comments:SOURCE: Vernon (1951) for all taxa. COVERAGE: Probably limited for all groups due to poor preservation. NOMENCLATURE: Slightly antiquated for molluscs and echinoids. |
