Lithology description: The Maiolica Fm is a well - bedded chertbearing mudstone, white in colour.
Environment:offshore indet.
Geology comments: The pelagic Maiolica Fm is part of the succession that was deposited in a structural basin that originated through rifting in the Lower Jurassic.
