Stratigraphy
Geological group:Hafún Formation:Tavo
Stratigraphic resolution:bed
Stratigraphy comments: STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From the Tavo Fm [enterers usage] of the Hafún Series [group?] of Late Oligocene, and presumably regionally overlies the Gianti Fm [enterers usage] (Early Oligocene) and is overlain by the Ghibirti Fm [enterers usage] (Early Miocene). THICKNESS: Difficult to ascertain, but a bed of not great thickness. AGE: Late Oligocene, equivalent to Chattian and upper Nari according to author on the basis of larger formaniferal and molluscan biostratigraphy. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From Bed D, near base of section.
